2021.10.24 12:28 Kiszkaa Should the bbeg be hard or deadly?
Writing a one shot that will be my first DMing experience ever. The final boss is yetis (it ties in, I promise) but I’m stuck on whether it should be 2 or 3 of them. According to kassoon two is hard and three is deadly. So what should it be? There’s 6 players. Five level 3 and one level 2 healer.

2021.10.24 12:28 Diamanacle Question Tithe Takers Color(s) for EDH
As the title states, I have a question about Tithe Taker in relation to color identity for commander.
As a low CMC creature with a great early game controlling ability I've been wanting to put it into my [[Brago]] deck. I get a lot of hate from my group for playing Brago as it is, so I've found that leaving out the usual Stax pieces has calmed everyone down a bit and I generally get left alone (kind of) in the early game until I develop my board a bit. That said, I don't have a [[Grand Abolisher]] to plunk into the deck for more of a passive stax ability and I've been using [[Teferi, Time Raveler]] in it's place, but that doesn't affect activated abilities and instead of locking people out of them entirely, ie, [[Grand Abolisher]] I was thinking throw in [[Tithe Taker]] to try and have some control over that front as well and it doesn't seem as Stax-y as the Abolisher does.
So, I'm curious about [[Tithe Takers]] color identity. The card does not have a mana symbol on it other then white, however in the explanation of it's Afterlife ability it states "When this creature dies, create a 1/1 white and black Spirit creature token with flying." So, does this mean it has B in it's color identity? Or does it fall into the fetch land loophole where you can put a fetch land in your deck if it is able to retrieve one of the colors of mana in your deck because it doesn't have any mana symbols on it?
I really don't want to have to shell out another ~ $30 on another card for this deck lol, so please, all loopholes welcomed!!
Thanks in advance for the answers everyone!

2021.10.24 12:28 Notbbupdate [Prompt Contest #6] How Slugterra mastered power creep
Slugterra was probably created because someone thought "what if slugs (the ones you shoot) were also slugs (the living creature)?" The plot follows Eli Shane, son of Will Shane, sho arrives in Slugterra after his father dies. Eli takes on the role of his father in this isekai with western elements as the town sheriff. Due to it's merchandise-driven nature, Slugterra constantly introduces new slugs, blasters, and more. And it integrates them into the story perfectly
Slugs are, well, slugs. You load them into a blaster and fire them. Once they reach 100 miles per hour they transform into powerful creatures. A the show goes on, we get ghouls, fusion shots, and eventually peak with Elementals
Power creep would basically go: Reular slugs < Ghoul slugs < Mechaslugs < Rare slugs < Rare ghoul slugs < Fusion shot < Megamorph < Ghoul megamorph < Elementals. The reason this works is because every new power up has good in-universe reasons to exist, and that it doesn't overshadow other characters
Starting with in-universe reasons: Ghouls, Mechaslugs, and Rare ghouls are products of some of the greatest minds in the world of Slugterra. It's like Richard Gatling inventing the Gatling Gun. Rare slugs are to regular slugs what a rhino is to a dog. It's from the fuion shot onwards that things become more compliacted. The fusion shot was used by the Invincible Master, since she was the only one who could consistently use fusion shots without it backfiring (an EMP blast disabling the user's blaster was considered one of the best case scenarios for using the fusion shot without studying it extensively). The fusion shot "formula" was eventually cracked by Eli with help of the Shadow Clan, which allowed him to incorportate fusion shots into his skillset. Megamorphs happened on accident, when due to Kord modifying their vehicles to go faster, a slug was fired and reached 200 miles per hour. The villains took note of this, and started using ghoul megamorphs for themselves. Elementals are the most powerful slugs, but weren't itroduced until very late because they were though to be a myth, leading to no one trying to even find them
An issue with power creep is that it can overshadow side characters when only 1 or 2 characters get pwerups. Slugterra avoids this by either giving everyone access to new slugs or giving them limitations. Fusion shots and megamorphs take a long time to recharge, so they can't be spammed. This makes regular slugs and rare slugs still be valuable. Regular slugs aren't as powerful as rare ones, but not all slugs are used for direct combat. Frostcrawlers are often used to build temporary bridges from ice, and can make ice walls, making them extremely useful when being chased. Even when we have Elementals, regular slugs are still useful, as Elementals are extremely volatile and using them in most situations is the equivalent of pulling out an RPG for close quarters combat
Slugterra used power creep in an incredible way. Whenever a new powerup is introduced, it serves a purpose without making the previous slugs obsolete. More series should do this, since it allows for side characters to not become useless as the series goes on
